2020-2021 Season Update

The COVID-19 global pandemic has fundamentally shifted almost every aspect of day-to-day life. It has forced us as individuals, as a country, and as a global community to reassess how we achieve even the most mundane acts. Our beloved activity and percussion community has been no exception to these re-strategizing efforts.

After months of strategic and thoughtful engagement by the Élan Youth Arts Board of Directors and Ensemble Coordinators, several scenarios have been considered, weighed, and discussed ad nauseam. With a few options providing hope for some form of semblance for a pseudo-season, these inroads ultimately lead to the same logistic and health variables many of us in our collective community will have to encounter.

The very real threat and danger pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic is not lost on us. We will always operate and make decisions through the lens of safety, and what minimizes or mitigates threats to our members and staff. As such, we have made the decision in the interest of safety to our members, staff, and communities to halt any and all member-based activities for the remainder of the 2020 season.

While a very difficult decision to make, we do not waver on the decision; we stand firm that it is the right decision to make at this time. We stand behind the medical and scientific community and let them take the lead as they usher us and the world out of these most challenging waters.

In the meantime, as we continually recalibrate, we wish safety and health over our percussion and global community.

To our alumni, the organization that Élan is today is part of your legacy, and we thank you for your unwavering belief in us, and most important, your belief in one another.

To our future members, although we haven't met you yet, please know that we are thrilled for the day our community can reconvene and stand side by side once again. We are excited for you to lay the path for the generation that will follow in your footsteps and continue your legacy.

Thank you
