Armando Olivares has been surrounded by music and musicians his whole life. He was introduced to the marching arts at a young age. He played percussion all through his years in high school. He continued his education in the marching world at PCC. Where he played in the PCC Marching Band and Tournament of Roses Honor Band. In 96 & 97 he was a part of the famed Santa Clara Vanguard Cymbal line. Being a part of this great section opened up a whole new world of percussion he never knew existed. After aging out Armando taught a few local cymbal lines in SoCal. In 2002 he was given the opportunity to be the instructor for SCV Cymbal Line and did this through 2005. Along with being a cymbal instructor with SCV he also was the marching tech for the drumline. Since then Armando has assisted different drum corps cymbal lines and always returning to SCV for inspiration.

This is Armando's fourth season with Élan Percussion.
